A complete Mesolithic flint adze or pick, dating from c. 10,000 to c. 3500 BC. This adze has been made on an elongated flint nodule of a mottled dark grey flint, now patinated white / light grey with evidence of recortification. Being broadly triangular in section this object can be described as a pick as well as an adze. The butt is squared in plan, the side taper gently and evenly towards the tip which is rounded. The adze is worn but is in good condition overall, with an area of post-depositonal damage around the butt.

A flint piercer made on a bladelet dating to the Late Upper Palaeolithic to Mesolithic period (c. 20,000-4,000 BC). The piercer has been made on a tertiary flake of a mottled orange-brown flint. The bulb is retained as is the small fragment of the platform. There are two flake scars on the dorsal surface. The lower half of the left hand edge of the dorsal side has been worked with soft hammer precussion, becoming more invasive towards the tip of the piercer, which has detatched, possibly during production but potentially after deposition.

The debitage pieces include two unworked bladelets (combined weight of 3.8 grams) and one flake (6.8 grams), which retains its bulb. All three pieces are made on the characteristic mottled blue-grey flint of the area, which has a milky outer coating. Two of the pieces, the larger bladelet and the flake, retain areas of cortex, both being secondary flakes. The smaller bladelet is made on a tertiary flake. A collection debitage consisting of 24 bladelets dating to the Mesolithic period (10,000-4001 BC). They are in varying sizes and varying stages of preperation. They are broadly rectangular in plan with a trapezoidal cross section., although the less-fine examples have a triangular cross section. All of the bladelets are on a mottled blue-grey flint many with a white patina forming. Seceral examples are in the early stage of preperation, retaining a small area of cortex. The pieces vary in soze from 33.5mm long x 14.4mm wide down to 16.4mm long x 7.2mm wide.

It is fine and well executed. This informal tool likely dates from the late Mesolithic to Neolithic period, c. 6500-2100 BC.

A collection of flint tools and production debris dating to the Mesolithic period (8300-4000BC). The collection consists of 24 bladelets or microliths as well as one core and one core fragment. All of the pieces show long thin blade removals, a technology very characteristic of the Mesolithic period. The microlithis weigh a collective total of 28.1gms. The large core weighs 14.8gms and measures 20.92mm long and is 20.05mm at its widest. The core tapers from the platfrom at the top, almost down to a point at the distal end. A secondary flake from a grey, semi translucent flint. Minimal retouch on lateral edges confined only to the dorsal surface. Part of the platformm and bulb are retained. This piece of flint is very curved, almost from a hinge fracture piece. This flake measures 47.64mm long, 21.77mm wide and is 4.95mm thick. It weighs 5.9gms.

There is some evidence of limited recortication. The scraper measures 51.68mm long, 48.59mm wide and is 14.90mm thick. It weighs 47.5gms.

The blade carries serrated retouch along one dorsal lateral with minimal retouch on opposite lateral. This blade appears to have broken in antiquity. The blade measures 24.79mm long, 16.47mm wide and is 4.33mm thick. It weighs 2gms.

A retouched secondary flake, possibly a horseshoe scraper with retouch visible on both the dorsal and ventral sides. The tool appears to have battered edges all around it. The flint is a brown-grey in colour and the bud is still present on the ventral surface, although it has been partially removed by retouch. This tool measures 30.20mm long, 20.87mm wide and is 8.12mm thick. It weighs 6.9gms.

A horseshoe or thumbnail scraper made on a secondary flake. The flint is a brown-grey colur and some white patina remains on the dorsal surface. There is a small tang on this scraper apparently created on purpose. It is unclear whether this was for better grip in the fingers or if it was hafted to a wooden or bone handle. This small scraper measures 22.23mm long, 27.02mm wide and is 8.10mm thick. It weighs 5.2gms.

A total of eight (8) primary flakes removed during core preperation. Two display hinge fractures, and all have bulbs of percussion. No additional working or retouch is evident. The combined weight of these primary flakes is 52.1gms. These fragments would normally be difficult to date should they have been found in isolation, but the associated lithic implements suggest that they date from the late Mesolithic to the Neolithic periods (6500 - 2100 BC). As with the majority of the assemblage, the grey-blue core and white cortex suggests a chalk downland origin as the flint source.
