Mesolithic flint piercer, 30mm long, 10mm wide, 2mm thick and 0.9g in weight. Made on a very thin blade, the proximal end, in this case, has been abruptly retouched to form a point. The blade was struck from a unidirectional blade core as evidenced by the flake scars on the dorsla face. The flint is a translucent caramel brown that is starting to trun light grey with patination. The proximal end was chosen as the desired end to fashion the piercer because the distal end is too fragile due to cortex.
