A flint flake, probably a burin, of probable Mesolithic date, 10000 BC - 4000 BC. It is formed on a secondary flake of opaque light grey flint with cortex surviving on the left edge of the distal end. It is sub-oval in plan, with several removal scars on the dorsal face making it oval in cross-section. There is a burin spall removal from the distal end along the ventral face at the right hand side. This, and additional flaking on the distal end, create a chisel like point at the distal end which could be used for cutting grooves. It is 29mm long, 20.3mm wide and 9.5…

A flint probable burin of Mesolithic date, 9000 BC - 4000 BC. The flake is rectangular and is formed on a secondary flake of patinated white flint. There is cortex on the dorsal face in the middle of the left side. The burin is formed on the distal left corner. Retouch from the ventral face at the distal end of the left side formed a notch to differentiate the burin. The distal end has short, abrupt, sub-parallel retouch, with a notch at the left side. T flake has been removed from the face of the burin point, and on its right side. The flake is 33.5mm long,23.3mm wide and 8.2mm thick…

There are invasive removal scars on the dorsal face. The right edge has short, semi-abrupt, sub-parallel retouch at the distal end. The very distal left side has surviving cortex. This is interrupted by a burin spall removal from the distal end along the left dorsal face. The burin is 36mm long, 16.5mm wide and 4.2mm thick. 1.86g.

A flint burin of probable Mesolithic date, about 9000 BC - 4000 BC. It is formed on light yellow grey flint on a truncated flake. It is sub-rectangular in plan and triangular in cross-section. The flake has a hinged termination at the distal end, but the striking platform appears to be missing. There is retouch on the right side, perhaps forming a scraper or platform preparation for an earlier removal. The retouch is short, sub-parallel and abrupt. There is also retouch or possibly edge damage on the proximal end which forms a concave notch. The burin is formed on the left side. There…

A flint probable burin of probable Mesolithic date, about 9000 BC - 4000 BC. It is formed on light grey flint. The flake is sub triangular in plan and cross-section. The dorsal face has invasive working along the aris struck from the distal end. A spur projecst at the right proximal corner. The right side of this is shaped by a long removal from the proximal end. Another romoval on the doral face of the spur, again, from the proximal end, shapes the top of the burin. The flake is 17.1mm long, 8.9mm wide and 2.4mm thick. 0.29g.

A flint lithic implement, probably used as a burin, of Mesolithic date, about 10,000 BC - 4000 BC. It is formed on a tertiary flint blade which is not patinated. It is sub-rectangular in plan with an oblique distal end and rounded proximal end. It is trapezoidal in section. There are long removals on the dorsal face from the proximal end. The distal end is truncated leaving a flat face. The dorsal face of the distal end has been retouched with short, semi-abrupt, scalar removals from the distal end, creating a possible scraping edge. This working and two very fine removals on the left…

The scraper is formed on mottled light yellow grey flint which is semi-translucent and has a few areas of slight patination. It is sub-rectangular with the burin formed on the distal right corner. The distal end is oblique. It is trapezoidal in section. The blade is tertiary and the right side has a blade removed to form the point on which the burin is formed. There are removals from the distal end on the dorsal face, and a spall removed obliquely from the distal right corner to form the burin…

A flint multi functional tool, a burin and cutting edge formed on a primary flake of tan coloured flint. The dorsal face is covered with cortex except where the working has removed it at the distal end. The right side has semi abrupt retouch along it to form a knife. More invasive retouch at the distal end forms the burin point. The proximal end is snapped. The flint is not patinated. It is Mesolithic in date probably.
