Flint microlith, this is a tertiary blade. There is one arise on the dorsal and a low bulb of percussion on the ventral. Both sides of the lower third of the item have concave notches that have direct, abrupt retouch. Th artefact is covered in a creamy patina with lighter grey patches. Possible late Mesolithic date.

1, 2 & 3, Three of the examples are points (also the largest ones) two have abrupt retouch down one side in order to blunt that edge off, the largest example has low angled retouch on the other side to sharpen it. mid grey patina.
4 & 5, Two of the examples are small blades with a blade that runs down both of the long edges, these have been retouched with low angled, short direct flakes down both blades. Off white patina.

All three have one arise running down the centre of the dorsal, the smaller one has retouch down one blade, probably in order to blunt it. Two Microliths
Late Mesolithic
(Longest) length 17mm, width 5mm, thickness 3mm.
(smallest) length 12mm, width 2mm, thickness 2mm.
Both are sub-rectangular with one of the long edges extended to form a point. This extended edge has been retouched, and is very worn on both artefacts.
The largest microlith has a blue patina that has very frequent creamy speckles. The smaller example has a light brown patina with creamy edges.

Five microliths, the two larger examples are points, one of which is heavily worn along the blades that run down either side. Two are burins and the last is triangular shaped with a working edge down two sides, the longest and shortest sides.

The artefacts range from 24mm long, 8mm wide, 3mm thick, to 9mm long, 6mm wide, 1mm thick.
most of the artefacts have two arrises, one on each side, there is one point in the group (24mm long, 8mm wide, 2mm thick), 7 blunted points, and 25 other styles of microliths.
These artefacts could have been mounted on the shaft of an arrow and may represent evidence of hunting tools from the site.
Most of the flints have a light grey patina and the rest an off white patina.
