A serrated flint implement of early mesolithic (c.9000Bc-8000BC) or Early Neolithc (c. 4000bc-3300BC). date. The flint took is roughly triangular in shape with a rounded bottom and has short scaled low angle retouch along one edge. The bulb of percussion is low and not pronounced suggesting soft hammer production. The flint is transluscent brown through to dark brown in colour. Measurements: 62.72mm long, 19.69mm wide, 5.76mm thick and 4.91g in weight.

Description: The blade is roughly square in plane with one edge still having cortex, the opposite edge having crushed, short scaled abrupt retouch intentional done to blunt the edge. There is low angle retouch along one of the remaining edges, the final edge has no working. The flint is very thin and a pale grey-white colour. Description: The mace head is oval in plan and has a central perforation from one side to the other. This perforation is the typical hour glass shape. The surface of the mace has been polished and is very smooth to the touch. The object has fractured and left a rough section on side covering roughly a third of that side. It is obliquely blunted with short scaled abrupt retouch along one edge. it is a light grey tansluscent colour. Measurements: 30.74mm long, 12.65mm wide, 6.58mm thick and 2.64g in weight. Discussion: Despite clear retouch the exact identity of this tool is uncertain its small size and probable relationship to the microlith industries of the Mesolithic make a Mesolithic date most likely.
