Description: The object is an irregular sub-rectangular shape in plan a pointed butt and is roughly triangular in cross-section from the middle to the butt. The object has long flaking covering much of the object but with a patch of cortex from middle right side of the axe to the butt end of the top side. An incomplete probable flint knife of mesoltihic or early neolithic date. Description: The knife is formed from a long thin tertiary flake, surviving up to roughly 50% of its original length. It has short scaled low-angle retouch along its edges. The flint took is roughly triangular in shape with a rounded bottom and has short scaled low angle retouch along one edge. The bulb of percussion is low and not pronounced suggesting soft hammer production. The flint is transluscent brown through to dark brown in colour. Description: The flake is sub-ovoid in plan and D-shape in section. There is clear and pronounced conchoidal rippling, bulbar scare and bulb of percussion indicating its production via hard hammer technology. The dorsal side has a rejuvination scare on and two long thin removals possibly indicating production of Mesolithic blade microliths initial or other bladed tool. Description: The waste flake is small and narrowly teardrop in shape with a wide base but narrow striking platform. Conchoidal rippling is quite visible and un patinated. One side has been carefully worked into an arm with retouch described as invasive scaled semi-abrupt retouch. This retouch is all from one angle. Measurements: 82.74mm long, 61.05mm wide, 17.59mm thick and 53.99g in weight. Discussion: The exact use and age of this object is uncertain.
