A fragment of a Mesolithic tranchet axehead or a slightly later Neolithic flaked axehead (not enough survives to be sure). It comprises the butt end (unless it is a narrow cutting end). Measures 35.05x34.92x22.51mm and weighs 23.9g. The axehead fragment is lentoid in cross-section and has large flake scars on both surfaces with some iron staining on the arises. The flint is 100% heavily patinated on all surfaces, including the break which indicates this occurred in ancient times.

Late Mesolithic/ Early Neolithic flaked flint axehead or adze. It measures 109.5x50.3x30.5mm and weighs 189.98g. In shape the axe/ adze is oval, the cutting edge rounded. In profile, one face appears thinner below the cutting edge, which overhangs this area slightly. The flint is heavily patinated on one face and half-heavily/ half-pebbled on the other face. Damage at the cutting edge and butt end show a light grey flint beneath. There is some iron staining on both faces. In section, at the butt-end, it is diamond-shaped. At the cutting end it is oval-sectioned. 7000-3000 BC.
