Found at the same findspot as record: HESH-37B6DD Three tertiary blades / debitage of late Mesolithic or transitional Neolithic date (4500 -3000 BC). All three blades are snapped and although the bulbs of percussion are lost on the ventral faces they show distinct conchoidal fractures. The dorsal faces all show vertical scars from flake removals and they all have lentoid / crested cross sections. A small fragment from the upper part of a snapped long sub-rectangular bladelet of later Mesolithic or early Neolithic date (4500 - 2800 BC). The bladelet is heavily rolled and abraded; it has vertical removals on the dorsal face and conchoidal ripples on the ventral. There is no retouch present. The proximal end has the remains of a prepared knapping platform. The flint is very coarse being a light brown grey colour with slightly crystalline (cherty) structure. The bladelet measures 20.0mm length, 23.4mm width, is 8.8mm thick and weighs 4.3 grams.

An irregular fragment of secondary debitage - most probably from a core of irregular shape. The debitage has two small prepared platforms from small regular flakes have been taken. These platforms are at opposite ends of the debitage. The flint is a dark black colour with a large area of milky white cortex on one face. The flint has been heavily rolled in the ploughsoil and all surfaces are abraded. The core measures 44.4mm in length, 19.1mm width, is 21.4mm thick and weighs 14.2 grams.

A single distinct dressed knapping platform is present and there are several areas of multiple blade removals in a single direction .The flint is a dark black colour with an area of milky white cortex on one edge. The flint has been heavily rolled in the ploughsoil and all surfaces are abraded. The core measures 19.7mm in length, 26.9mm width, is 18.1mm thick and weighs 12.3 grams.

The blade is struck from a poor quality flint core that varies in coarseness and colour, most probably being glacial or riverine derived.
