An incomplete Medieval sheet copper-alloy book clasp (c. 1350-c. 1500). Howsam type A.8.2. This clasp is formed of a single sheet of copper-alloy folded in half through 180° at the terminal and secured at the attachment end with two copper-alloy rivets, one either side of a grooved aperture. There is a further flat-headed copper-alloy rivet at the centre close to the lobe. The circular lobe adjacent to the terminal is hollow-domed.
