A sherd from a medieval coarseware (MCW) vessel, dating to the period c.AD 1150-c.1450. A sherd from the rim of the vessel, which is upright and rectangular in cross-section. The inner surface and core are a light brown colour, while the outer surface is a slightly darker grey. The edge of a band of thumb print decoration can be seen on the outer surface above the break. A sherd from the handle of a meddieval coarseware vessel. The handle is sub-rectangular in cross-section with a raised longitudinal ridge along either side of its outer face. Between these ridges a crude cross has been scratched into the surface prior to firing and there are lines of dots along each edge. The handle is sizeable and probably came from a large jug. The fabric is hard and coarse and is tempered with poorly sorted rounded quartz (<2mm), most of which is quite fine and occasional larger fragments of white chalky material (<2mm). Only a small part of the base survives, but it appears to sag downwards sightly. The inner surface and core are a light buff colour, while the outer surfaces are dark grey. A fragment of late medieval to post medieval glazed ridge tile. The fragment comes from the upper part of the tile. It is triangular in cross-section with a concave underside and an incomplete rectangular crest running along the centre of the upper edge. The frabric is coarse, oxidised red-orange in colour and has an orange-brown glaze with darker streaks running through it.

A sherd from the rim of a medieval coarseware (MCW) vessel, dating to the period AD 1150-1450. The rim is upright, triangular in cross-section with a flat upper surface. Only a small section of the original rim survives and so the original diameter is unclear. The rim is straight with the body of the vessel flaring outwards just below it. The fabric is hard and coarse and is tempered with moderate fine quartz sand (<1mm). The core, margins and surfaces are buff coloured. The breaks are well worn.
