A stone mortar of probable late medieval to post medieval date (c. AD1400- 1700). The mortar has been carved from a single block of stone and is sub-oval in plan and U-shaped in profile. Projecting from the rim are three semi-circular lugs for stability and decoration. A triangular void has been chiselled out of the top of each lug and a modern blue triangular inlay has been inserted. One side of the object has been damaged and repaired with modern mortar or concreate. This repair may have occurred at the same time that the lugs were modified. A complete stone spindle whorl or weight dating from c. AD43 - 1700. The object is circular in plan and sub-rectangular in cross section. Slightly off centre is a circular perforation with an internal diameter of 6mm. Each face is undecorated. A stone spindle whorl which is circular in plan probably dating to the Medieval period, (1100-1500). It is circular in plan and sub-rectangular in cross-section. The object has a central circular perforation which has been drilled from each side. The object measures 33.11mm in diameter, 7.32mm in thickness and weighs 12.0g. The diameter of the internal perforation is 7.68mm. The object consists of a light greyish-brown rough stone. Spindle whorls were used from the Roman through to the Post-Medieval period. Carved stone head dating to the Medieval period. The object is oval in plan and the carving is quite realistic in style. It depicts a male face with staring eyes, a wide nose and a straight linear mouth. The cheeks are rounded and taper into a rounded chin. The carving has chin-length hair which is an unusual style and appears to be wavy. The carving is attached to a rectangular block of stone.
