A medieval silver penny of Stephen (AD 1135-1154), Irregular Issue, Midlands and South-Western Area (North 887; cf. Mack 181-2), struck by Rogier at the Oxford mint. Ref: North 1994: 206-7; Mack 1966: 69-70.
The coin is complete and hardly worn, well struck slightly off-centre. There is a straight crease across the coin, below the centre - the finder reports that he found the coin bent and had it straightened before realising what the coin was.

Description: An incomplete silver gilt annular brooch of medieval date. The brooch has an annular frame, triangular in section with a decorative projection in the form of an animal's (possibly a snake's) head on one side. The frame has a small constriction where the missing pin would have been located. There are two areas of ribbing around the frame which serve as additional decoration. Suggested date c. AD 1250-1350.
Dimensions: 23mm long, 13.2mm diameter, 3.3mm thick, 0.6 grams.

Treasure Case 2019 T652. Description: An incomplete silver gilt dress fastener / dress hook of late medieval date. The dress fastener is broadly rectangular in form with a circular suspension loop above the moulded and openwork body decorated with scrolled floral designs. A blunted projection at the base of the fastener does not appear to be broken, neither do the two projections flanking it - this may not have had a hook, rather it was sewn to the clothing through the holes in the body and an opposing fitting hooked into the attachment loop.
