Medieval copper alloy lyre shaped strapend fragment, 40mm long, 31mm wide and 2mm thick with a weight of 6.96grams. The object is circular in overall form and rectangular in cross section. It is crescent shaped and has two circular rivet holes, side by side, centrally placed. On the outer rounded edge there is a centrally placed projection which has a trefoil form and foliate decoration. The object represents part of one side of a two part Lyre shaped strap end. Similar examples include HAMP-B9087F and CORN-BD8107

It has slightly tapering sides with an elongated semi-circular project in the centre of its lower, narrower edge. The object is formed of two pieces with a 'back plate' soldered onto the rest of the object. There is a single circular rivet hole in the centre of the upper edge. The object has no signs of any decoration.

It has been decorated with a solid incised border which is then sub-divided internally by several bands formed of two closely placed diagonal incised lines, one of which appears to have provided a weak spot as the object has broken along this axis. The object has two circular rivet holes placed near its upper edge.

An incomplete Late Medieval copper alloy composite strap end, missing part of its openwork projection and its backplate. The strap end is of crescent shape and the surviving upper plate decorated with crudely incised lines and grooves. This plate is C-shaped, being widest at the centre and tapering to either end. The four rivet holes are present, two of which contain corroded rivets. Projecting outwards from the widest point is an openwork area which would originally have been triangular in form, although it is now squarish due to breakage.
