Medieval (c. 1270 to 1450) strap end: The copper alloy strap end is composed of two plates which are sub-rectangle and broken at one terminal. These breaks are not recent. At the opposite terminal there is a rivet hole in each corner of both plates. The upper plate is decorated with a linear motif composed of a zigzag design. The surfaces of the plates have patches of a well developed mid green-grey patina. In length the strap end is 20.71mm, 3.4mm thick, 13mm wide and weighs 0.95g. The two arms of the spacer, which are between the plates of the strap end, are missing. The surface of the strap end has a dark grey coloured patina .
