It is one with a swinging central part and an outer frame but only the centre part survives. The central swinger is cross shaped with a prominent lobe at the end of each arm (except the top one which has the hinge instead) which could be described as a cross pommee. In the centre is a separate dome headed rivet. The swinger is 20mm long, 14.4mm wide and 10.2mm thick. 2.2g.  Similar examples are LIN-6751A4, NMGW-3D9330 and SWYOR-AAEFB8.

A copper-alloy banner style harness pendant, part of an elaborate set dating from the Medieval period, about AD 1200 - 1400. The main part is flat and rectangular. It is cast in one piece with a hollow cylindrical tube down one long edge; this would have fitted over a separate stem like a flagpole, around which it would have rotated. The tube contains iron, presumably the remains of the axis bar. The main rectangular area is decorated on both faces with the heraldic pattern vair. None of the enamel or tinctures survive, so the colours of the arms depicted are unknown. Gilding sur…

A copper alloy Medieval enamelled harness pendant dating from about AD 1280 - 1350. It is quatrefoil in plan with the remains of a suspension loop projecting from one lobe. The face is decorated with a central lozenge with an engrailed or otherwise ornate edge, containing red enamel round a central motif, sadly damaged, but possibly a lion rampant. The ornamentation on each edge of the lozenge may be fleur de lis. The lozenge is set within a rectangle, also containing traces of enamel which appears to be red. There is another motif in each lobe of the quatrefoil, outside the rectangle…

It is rectangular, wider than it is tall, with a suspension loop at rght angles to the plane of the pendant projecting from the centre of the upper edge. A Medieval copper alloy harness pendant dating from about AD 1200 - 1400. It is shield shaped (with a flat top, curved sides and a pointed base) and can be described as "Or or Argent, a saltire engrailed", meaning it was either gold or silver with the design of a cross saltire with scalloped edges filled with enamel. No traces of the enamel survive, and the treatment of the metal is unclear as what survives appears to be very pale gold. The pendant has a suspension loop in the centre of the top, and it is at right angles to the plane of the pendant as is usual. The pendant is 42mm lon…

A copper alloy Medieval Harness pendant of unusually small size, probably dating from AD 1150 - 1300. The pendant is circular and very thin. It has traces of a design on the front, perhaps within a beaded border, though it is no longer clear enough to interpret. A circular suspension loop projects, and is at right angles to the plane of the pendant. The thin metal and the small size both suggest the fairly early date (see Ashley, 2002, Medieval Armorial Horse Furniture in Norfolk, pages 7-9). The pendant is 17.2mm long, 10.3mm wide and 4.2mm thick. 0.62g.

A copper alloy Medieval heraldic harness pendant, dating from about AD 1300-1450. The quatrefoil-shaped pendant has an integral suspension loop at the top, which is turned 90° to the plane of the pendant.
