"An incomplete medieval copper alloy buckle, dating to c. 1350-1450. The object is anthropomorphic in shape, consisting of a crowned male figure positioned in a crouching pose. The figure's crowned head forms the clasp of the buckle, and two breaks demonstrate the original position of the attached frame. The crown appears linear in design, with a series of cast decorations which may be intended to mimic the fleurs depicted on coins of the period.
