Medieval gold ‘strirrup’ ring. The triangular bezel has a dark blue gemstone that has been identified by Raman spectroscopy in the British Museums Department of Scientific Research as corundum, likely sapphire. The band of the ring is distorted, bending inwards and forming a heart-shape. This is most likely accidental damage. Discussion: Stirrup-shaped ring with gemstones are common Medieval finger-ring types, with several parallels on the PAS database including ESS-B604F3, BH-74051C and NMS-EAE967. A copper-alloy uniface coin weight for the "masse d'or" of Philippe IV of France (AD 1268-1314), dating to AD 1296-1310. The weight is a thick copper-alloy disc, the top engraved with a seated figure wearing long robes and a crown his right hand is held an upright sceptre while the left hand is held in front of his chest with his index finger raise up slightly. His legs are flanked by trefoils that are most likely elements of the chair he is sitting on. Copper alloy buckle with integral box chape. The box chape is rectangular in plan with two rivet holes at the rear.
