Rectangular gilded buckle plate that is constructed from a copper alloy sheet that has been folded in half to allow it to be wrapped around the strap bar of a buckle (only the top half remains). The centre of the forward edge has a slot for the buckle pin, plus notched on either side to accommodate the arms of the buckle. Unfortunately, the plate is truncated at this fold resulting in the loss of the rear plate. two copper allow rivets are retained at the rear.

Fragment of a copper alloy spur buckle with integral plate. The oval buckle has an expanded forward edge. At the rear of the buckle is a circular hollow that would have mounted the pin. An expanded collar leads to the internal plate which is now truncated.

Rectangular buckle plate that is constructed from a copper alloy sheet that has been folded in half to be wrapped around the strap bar of a buckle. The centre of the folded end has a slot for the buckle pin; the sides of the fold are notched to accommodate the arms of the buckle. The copper alloy pin is still in place, the sides and rear of the buckle are also still retained and are constructed from sheet copper alloy that have been folded to form the three sides of the buckle. The leading edge of both sies is pierced and would have held a spindle that would have formed the forward edge.

Double looped annular buckle in the shape of a bird. There is a long lug on the forward edge that has a moulded animal head terminal. The rear edge has a trapezoid projection that expands out from the buckle which forms the tail of the animal.  Compare NMS-3BD8B3 (dated to the 14th or 15th century) and Whitehead (2003) no. 275 (which has been given the rather late date of c. 1550-1650) Copper alloy pin is still in place. A roughly circular sheet copper alloy buckle plate has been folded around the bar with a single rivet hole at the end for attachment.
