Normally these artefacts consist of two matching circular hinged discs that close together in order to protect the mirror, however only one of the discs remains. This has an inwards facing rim that project down at a right angle form the top of the disc. On one edge is a double pierced lug, while on the opposing edge is a single pieced lug; to form the hinge a single lug form one disc would have been inserted in between a double lug on the second disc. In the centre of the folded end is a slot for the buckle pin; the sides of the fold are notched to accommodate the arms of the buckle.
