A Medieval copper-alloy French jetton, crown type, c. AD 1418 - 1487. Issued under Charles VII dating from AD (1418-1437). The obverse carries a crown within a wire line circle, with the letters A V E in the band of the crown, surrounded by the legend AVE:MARIA:GRASIA:PLENA:DN. There are double pellet stops between the words of the obverse legend. On the reverse is a double-stranded arcuate cross with fleur de lis set into the angles. Mitchiner (1988: 194) no. 535. Obverse: The obverse depicts a kings head and bust facing - it is very stylised - the crown is formed with a high lis formed of three pellets arranged as a trefoil, the side fleurs are bi-foliate and look like antlers / horns. There is a boarder of pellets. Reverse; A long cross with outer border of pellets and uncertain decoration. Diameter: 20.51 mm Weight: 2.3 g The jetton is very similar in style to HESH-87036A
