Fragment of a Medieval silver penny, little survives but the presence of what appears to be a cross pomee on the reverse suggest that it was a short cross issue (1180-1247). Obverse: unreadable, Reverse: cross pomee, inscription barred letter A. Length 8.2mm, Mass 0.12g.

Medieval lead seal matirx, lozenge/diamond shaped bearing, in its centre an incised motif depiction what appears to be a spear head. This is surrounded by incised lozenge shaped line round which is an inscription: S' ROG ' ERIN+ the letters oddly not being reversed as is usual in a seal matrix. As the lettering is incuse it cannot be argued that this is seal impresson. The back of matrix is slightly keeled and, on its lower end is a lug, 6.8 x 4.2mm x 2.0mm high, its top apparently slightly expanded, there is no indication that it was a loop. Medieval shield shaped harness pendant and suspension bar, cast copper alloy, both parts retaining substantial areas of gilding. The pendant and bar were linked together by a loop on the upper edge of the pendant secured between two lugs on the underside of the bar, They are now separate. The suspension bar is cross-shaped, 30.1mm long by 33.4 wide with copper alloy rivets through each of the three arms. These rivets are 2.0mm in diameter with a projecting length of 2.5mm on the rear and expanded ends. The tops of the rivets are 3.7mm in diameter and project above the face of the bar.…

Medieval shield shaped harness pendant and suspension bar, cast copper alloy, now with much loss of surface. The pendant and bar are linked by a loop on the upper edge of the pendant which is secured between two lugs on the underside of the bar, there were formed by bending back flat projection to surround the linking pin. The bar has a flattened, D shaped section, 6.0 x 3.2mm, its underside being slightly hollow. Through it are two, 3.0mm diameter rivet holes and, at each end, is a projecting 'nose'. Medieval pendant in the form of a heart. The colour of the badge suggests that it is copper alloy but the fractures are more characteristic of lead alloy. Breaks set either side of the two upper lobes suggest the presence of a now missing loop. Both faces of the badge bear raised decoration consisting of an outer band filled with short, transverse lines within which are two raised lines following the shape of the heart. Medieval thimble, copper alloy, of the 'beehive type' dated to c.1350-1450 (See Holmes (1988, Finds Research Group Datasheet 9). Conical with a slightly pointed top. Its surface is covered with circumferential rings of irregular depressions, the absence of raised metal around them suggests that these were drilled, not punched. There are no depressions around the top of the thimble. Diameter 21.3mm, Height 20.9mm, Wall thickness 1.5mm, Mass 6.86g.

Iron bar on the end of which is a conical, copper alloy, finial. Corrosion makes it impossible to determine the original section of the bar which may have been circurlar or square, it now measures 8.5mm, The finial has a maximum diameter of 6.4mm. Where the finial meets the iron bar is a low, 2.5mm wide collar. Next to this is 1.0 mm wide, plain band which appears to be of a different alloy to the rest of the terminal, copper rather than brass coloured. Medieval pommel cap from a single edged weapon, possibly a 'baselard' of fifteenth century date. The pommel has a flat section and is asymmetric, indicating a single edged blade. On one side is a hooked projection and, opposite it, a vertical spur. The edges below these feature are chamferred. Through the pommel is a flat sectioned hole that would have accomodated the blade's tang, This is 9.7 x 3.7mm where it joined the grip, tapering to 5.0 x 2.0mm at its top. Medieval or Post Medieval lead spindle whorl, biconical with a 10mm diameter hole through its centre. Unlike most lead whorls, this example appears carefully executed with an elegant plant tredril running around one face. The other face is more complex bearing a number of motifs, a letter T with expanded arms, a six pointed star with a voided centre: a pear shaped pellet: a letter O, a single round pellet: a square of four pellets: two pellets, one above the other. Medieval or post Medieval hook fitting, probably from a vessel. The object consists of a 21.3mm long bar with a keeled, triangular section. On the underside of this are two, 6.4mm long, integrally cast rivets, their ends expanded to hold them in place. The hook is separated from the bar by a narrow, transverse moulding, it has a keeled section which narrows, changing to a D section. Medieval cast copper alloy mace head. The lower part of the head is cylindrical with a small moulding around the 22.7mm diameter socket opening. The cylinder develops into a pentagonal section along each angle of which is a 53mm long row of five, pyramidical projections, the intervening spaces being plain.
