Medieval copper alloy mount in the form of a disc, both faces of which appear to bear crypto-zoomorphic decoration cast in deep relief. Both faces appear similar with what appear to be a pair of animals looking back, over their own bodies, towards the centre, their eyes marked by small holes and their jaws agape, their front legs touch the inside of the frame and they appear to have crests on their heads. Medieval to Post Medieval lead spindle whorl, c. AD1300-1600. Biconical but one side is much less raised than the other, the raised face continuing into a short cylinder. Both faces are decorated with raise dots, separated by raised, angled lines on the more raised face and for radial lines on the other. The hole in the centre of the whorl is 10.0mm in diameter.
