A small casket key of iron. The bow is lozenge-shaped, with a collar projecting at the junction of bow and stem. The key appears to be formed from two pieces of metal, with the stem and bit of one piece and the bow the other.
The stem is solid and roughly circular in cross-section, becoming eccentrically elliptical (or egg-shaped) towards the bit. The stem and bit form one piece of metal and are simple, with no elaboration beyond two clefts in the front edge, the upper one V-shaped and the lower one square.
