A complete cast copper alloy seal matrix dating to the medieval period (c.AD 1300-1400). The object is conical with a hexagonal handle that rises from a circular die. The handle consists of a double rounded collar, atop of which is a lozenge shaped suspension loop with a circular perforation. A pin of silver, probably from a medieval annular brooch or possibly a buckle. The attachment loop is delineated from the otherwise unornamented main part of the pin by a ridge; this is raised on the former outer surface of the pin and only represented as two lateral protrusions from the rear. Similar items on the database are recorded under both buckle and brooch pins, SUR-D5E7F6 being morphologically very close except for the much thinner attachment loop.

A silver penny coin of Eustace Fitz John, minted probably in York between AD 1135-1154. Eustace was a powerful ally of King Henry I, and fought with King David of Scotland during the Anarchy against Stephen. This coin is struck slightly off-flan. Obverse:- Eustace standing with sword right, Legend 'EVSTA[...]' Reverse:- A cross within a quatrefoil, enclosed by a ring. Lettering interspersed with various symbols, including a heart, a five point star within a circle and a Cross patee.

A silver annular brooch of possible medieval date, the object being composed of a complete ring, a flat, blade-like pin, and four attached diamond shaped plates arranged in a radially symmetrical manner. Each plate is inscribed with a rough design that mirrors the diamond shape of the plate but is also crudely internally quartered. No other decoration is visible except for that found on the plates. A three part strap end of medieval date. The object consists of three main components; a decorated upper plate, a middle spacer section with a knop styled as an acorn, and an undecorated back plate. The overall shape is bell clapper-like, with a longer, thinner section terminating in a bulbous end. There is one definite rivet, at the tail end of the piece, though the centre of the bulbous section may also have a rivet. This does not have a corresponding hole on the opposite side, however. The cast copper alloy shaft and bow of a key, the rest of the probably pin and ward having become detached. The bow is composed of four relatively straight shafts arranged in a diamond shape, the corners formed of spheroid knops.These connect into a swelling at the base of the circular hollow shaft that is ovoid in cross section and incised on the bow side with a loose spiral pattern of eight lines. A 14th century medieval 'Lombard' jetton of a lead alloy. Objects of this type were used for the reckoning of debts on a counting board, especially in European financial institutions of the 13-16th century. This particular example is Italian and possibly refers to the Riccardi family, dating to the 14th century. It appears that it would have originally been roughly circular or at least ovoid, but damage, possibly within the soil, has left two large notches. one is more rounded than the other and appears to have happened earlier or to be a flaw of the original flan. A halfpenny of Henry VI of England. Possibly North 1434 (Spink 1838) because of the annulets in amongst the pellets on two quarters of the reverse. Henry VI coinage is split into two periods due his two periods on the throne, separated by that of Edward IV. Obverse:- Crowned head of Henry facing forward, with cross above crown in legend. A venetian soldino issued under Doge Michiel Sten, the 63rd Doge of Venice, between AD 1400-1413. Doge Sten was praised for his vitam celibem, or celibate lifestyle, after his death. The coin may have been clipped, as much of the beaded border appears to be missing. Obverse:- Standing figure of the Doge in full state dress, facing left and holding a stave. six pointed star in right field with mint initial 'D' beneath. A small casket key of iron. The bow is lozenge-shaped, with a collar projecting at the junction of bow and stem. The key appears to be formed from two pieces of metal, with the stem and bit of one piece and the bow the other. The stem is solid and roughly circular in cross-section, becoming eccentrically elliptical (or egg-shaped) towards the bit.
