Description: A complete sheet spherical silver bell, probably dating to the later medieval or early post-medieval period (AD 1450-1600) The bell is sub-oval, or globular, in shape, and appears to be manufactured from two silver sheets hammered into a hemispherical shapes, and joined at the waist. The join is undecorated, and shows signs of having been polished or ground to remove any seam marks. Two small 'sound holes', appear to have been bored, are present on the upper hemisphere on opposing sides of the bell. There is a notable lack of any slot on the base of the bell. A thin ba…
