The frame has an expanded and pointed outer lip and two projecting double lobes in the central waisted portion of each side. Length: 48.13mm, Width: 67.67mm, Thickness: 2.51mm, Weight: 18.6g The metal is dark green with a slightly pitted patina. SOM-BA34D2 notes: Vicky Lemmens comments: Margeson (1993:27) illustrates a very similar example complete with plate and pin. She suggests this form is a 15th to 16th century development (ibid:25).
