A complete copper alloy Medieval seal matrix dating from AD 1200-1500. The seal matrix has a conical handle that is hexagonally faceted and has an openwork triangular terminal with trefoil shaped perforation. On either side of the outer edge of the terminal is a horizontal raised bar. The sub-circular die is blank. Each facets of the handle has a central incised line running vertically 4mm from the terminal to join a linear hexagonal border. On the external surface there are vertical strips of applied decoration in the form of a raised strips with lattice decoration, these then have a green glaze applied over them.
