Medieval cast copper alloy harness pendant in the form of a spread eagle. It has a broken transverse loop at the top. The pendant is in the shape of an eagle with the head facing left, spread wings, feet and tail at the base. The tip of the wings and the feet join but there is an opening between them. The front is moulded in relief with traces of gilding and indentations probably indicating feathers. The back is flat and also have traces of gilding. It is 29.2mm long including the broken loop and 19.3mm wide and 4.8mm thick. it weighs 4.89 grams.

Cast copper alloy thimble with sloping sides, a slightly domed top and a distinct carination between side and top. The top and sides are covered with a continuous right-hand spiral of hand drilled circular pits apart from a plain band at the base which is decorated with a faint line running parallel to the plain rim. The squashed rim has several tears but no obvious notches and there is no bare tonsure. It is similar to Holmes (1988) p. 1 Fig 1b which is dated 1400-1550 AD and to examples from Southwark (Egan 2005: 131, no.629-631) from contexts dated 1530-1600 AD. The thimble is 19.6…

Medieval cast copper alloy coin weight for a French ecu. The weight is flat and oval with a raised design on one side of a crowned square topped shield holding three fleur de lis, the shield is flanked by single crowned fleur de lis and the entire design is contained within a pellet border. The reverse is plain. It is 16.7mm by 14.9mm and 2.3mm thick; it weighs 3.03 grams.

One arm of a late Medieval - Post Medieval cast copper alloy purse bar. The arm is slightly oval in section, 8.0 by 7.6mm and decorated with criss-crossing pairs of inlaid black neillo lines. At the inner end it narrows slightly then expands into a v-shaped rounded collar with a lobed shape above beyond which is an old break, from parallel this is probably the jaws of a debased animal head griping the bar in its mouth. Broken end of a cast, copper-alloy, tree shaped, terminal probably from a Medieval crescentic composite strap-end. The fragment is triangular with a moulded front and outline in the form of a central stem and four symmetrically arranged side branches with roughly circular indents between them. The back is plain. The broken end is very worn and slightly bent but there is one short, broken and twisted projection from one corner and parts of at least three open circular holes along the break. Post Medieval cast copper alloy pot foot and part of the leg. The leg is D shaped in section with a flat back; it is broken off just above a transverse collar with an old break. The foot is also D shaped in section with five moulded 'toes' running down the front giving a scalloped lower edge and a flat back. The base of the foot is flat and would mean the leg sat at c.80 degrees to vertical. It is 39.5mm long, 22.4mm wide and 16.6mm thick; it weighs 41.74 grams.

Medieval copper alloy jetton, probably produced in Tournai in the late 15th century. Lozenge containing 4 fleur de lis / short cross pattee with fleur de lis in each quarter, legend unclear.
The jetton is not directly paralleled in Mitchiner (1988) but is similar to French examples on page 209 which have a similar lozenge shield but a short cross pattee fleuretty or feuilly on the reverse. Medieval copper alloy sheet sexfoil mount. The mount has a high domed centre with a circular hole through it for the seperate rivet. The six lobed petals are raised with indents between and the edge is shaped to the curved outer edges of the petals. The tip of one petal is lost to an old break or original mistake with manufacture. The rivet is formed of a short lengh of copper alloy circular sectioned wire, it is loose but the top has been slightly flattened to fit the top of the mount and the attachment end is lost to an old break. Cast copper alloy thimble with sloping sides and domed top. The thimble has been squashed almost flat. There is a bare tonsure in the centre of the top. The rest of the top and sides are covered with a continuous left-hand spiral of hand drilled circular pits, which get smaller towards the top, apart from a plain band at the base. The squashed rim has several tears but no obvious notches. The thimble is 20.5mm tall, 28.6mm by 4.9mm at the base, 0.7mm thick and weighs 3.92 grams.

Cast lead vessel repair (pot mend). It is roughly oval in plan and H-shaped in section with two irregularly shaped outer sides, one larger than the other, joined by a smaller central section. In the groove created between the outer sides there are fragment of the original pot. The pottery has a bright orange fabric with common (c.20%) coarse sand temper. It is 42.5 mm by 39.2mm, 9.3 mm thick and weighs 81.7 g.

One terminal of a cast copper alloy mount, possibly a long strap mount from a casket of medieval date. The teminal has a slightly angular, projecting, oval point flanked by lobed knops to either side of the base. There is a circular hole through the centre of the oval and the bar has broken just below the lobed knops across a second hole. It is flat in section adn the sides and break are very worn. It is 20.8mm long, 13.6mm wide, 2.0mm thick and weighs 2.05 grams.

Body fragment from an unglazed Medieval cooking pot of probably 13th to 15th century date. The fabric is high fired, mid orange-dark buff with common (c.20%) medium sand temper. On the outer side is a sharp carination where the side angles inwards at c.40 degrees, the change of direction is more rounded on the inner side. It weighs 15.91 grams.

Rim fragment from a late Medieval or Post Medieval cast copper alloy vessel. The rim has a rounded swelling on the inner side. The rim was angled at about 60 degrees from horizontal. The outer side is crudely finished while the inner side has been burnished smooth. It is 5.8mm thick at the rim, and 2.7mm thick at the lower broken edge; it weighs 42.34 grams. It is too small to estimate the original diameter.

Medieval cast copper alloy harness pendant. The pendant is disk shaped, convex on the front and concave on the back with a complete but worn transverse suspension loop at the top which is slightly bent backwards. The surface is now worn and corroded, removing any original decoration. It is 30.2mm long including the loop, the main disk is 24.4mm in diameter and 1.1mm thick; the loop is 6.5mm by 2.2mm thick and the entire piece weighs 4.30 grams.

I have examined a group of objects found at Carhampton, Somerset. Five are coins, all official English silver issues of the later medieval period, which will therefore be of the sterling standard, i.e. 92.5% fine metal. Four of these were found in close proximity and their details are as follows:
