Medieval, copper-alloy, large, circular mount depicting the white boar of Richard III, dating to the later 15th century (1470-1485). The mount is gilded, silvered and enamelled and consists of two parts: a decorated disc held in a separate circular frame which has integral rivets and separate roves. The 63.4mm diameter disc has a slightly raised design of a boar walking left on an area of ground. Body sherd from a glazed medieval jug with applied strip on the outer face. The high fired fabric is a reduced mid-grey with a mid-buff on the inner surface only. It has common fine-medium sand temper and very occasional angular pieces of patinated chert/flint up to 1.9mm and very occasional rounded quartz up to 1.2mm. The vessel appears to be wheel thrown with an green glaze on the outer face. On the outer face is a short section of an applied strip, 9.8mm wide and appearing to curve slightly. Rim sherd from a closed vessel, probably a cooking pot, dating to the 11th to 12th century. The rim is everted and has broken at the point it met the vessel wall. A small amount of wall on the inner face suggests a c. 120 degree angle between them. The upper part of the rim is widened and stands up slightly with a rounded beaded outer edge and vertical inner edge. There is also a groove running around the centre of the upper face of the rim. Medieval cast copper alloy buckle frame with seperate copper alloy pin. The frame is D-shaped in plan and flat in section with rounded inner and outer edges. It has a widened and slightly thickened outer side to the loop and a slightly offset and thinned bar. There is a transverse groove across the front in the centre of the outer edge making a pin rest. It is decorated on the front with double lines of back to back triangles. These lines run around the frame following the inner edge and are interupted by the pin rest which is flanked by similar double lines runnning across the frame.…

A copper-alloy Medieval single-looped oval frame and pin dating to c. 1250-1400. The frame is triangular in cross section with a vertical outer edge, flat back and inner edge angled backwards. The outer side has a central moulding with angular knops at either end flanking a pair of smaller angular knops flanking a pin rest. The bar is narrowed, recessed and offset. The copper alloy pin is formed of circular cross sectioned wire with a simple loop around the bar and slightly downward angled point. Small fragment probably from the wall of a cast copper alloy vessel. The piece is an irregularly shaped piece of copper alloy, thickening towards one side. Three diverging raised ribs run from the thicker to the thinner side. 28.3mm long, 19.8mm wide and 5.3mm thick, it weighs 8.06g. The material, proportions and width apart of the diverging ribs suggests this is part of a cast copper alloy vessel near the point a leg projected out, rather than part of a socketed axe. Medieval copper alloy zoomorphic stamped sheet buckle plate dating to the late 12th to 13th century depicting a winged lion. The buckle plate is rectangular, only the front plate survives with one of the two tabs which would have looped over the bar of the buckle frame on the left. A slot between the tabs would have held the pin and there are holes for separate rivets in both corners at the attachment end, opposite the tab. A Medieval to early Post-Medieval copper alloy thimble, probably dating to c. 1400-1550. The thimble has a domed top and sloping sides. The drilled circular holes are arranged in a spiral across the top and down the sides, leaving a bald circular tonsure.The spiral runs to the left when followed up form the base. Although largely regular, there are also some misplaced or irregularly sized pits within the spiral. The rim is worn and damaged but appears to have a plain band, no incised line and no makers mark. An incomplete Medieval copper alloy composite buckle with forked spacer. The plates, pin and part of the frame with forked spacer are all present. The outer edge and one side of the probably oval frame are missing to a patinated break. The remaining section of frame is triangular in cross section with a flat back.
