Medieval copper alloy handle lug from a chafing dish. It is tear-drop shaped and solid, broken at the top of the shank which extends from a horizontal moulding on the narrowest part. It stands 24.4mm and is max.16.3mm wide (min.9.5mm at the shank). It is 9.7mm thick. The central piercing is 7.1mm in diameter. The shank is oval in section and 7.6mm wide. The horizontal moulding is 4mm deep and has a width of 12.8mm. The metal is rather pitted. The object weighs 16.98g. Chafing dishes are 15th/ 16th century in date.

Medieval two-piece sheet copper alloy strap-end, triangular in shape with a tiny pointed knop (1mm in length) projecting from the closed end. The strap end measures 27.8x(max)15.6mm and weighs 1.93g. At the open end a single rivet in the centre holds the two plates together. There is another rivet at the closed end. The closed end is slightly curved. A piece of textile survives intact between the two sheets. In colour it is a light beige, its weave is quite thick. Probably 13th/ 14th century in date.

Only one of these terminals survives (the others are broken across at the piercing) and this has a piercing of diameter 1.8mm. Between each arm teminal is an area with curved edge, again pierced and c.2mm in diameter. A groove delineates the arms of the cross and also cuts transversely across each arm to create a smaller corss at the centre.

This has probably been broken in antiquity as has the opposite face of the mount, although this is not certain as the metal has been stripped and removed traces. The mount measures 12.8x20.6x1.7mm and weighs 1.75g. The piercing is 3mm in diameter. It depicts a dog walking right and facing forwards within a circle, within a square. In each corner is a lis. A hook, another similar projection or arms for a harness pendant may have originally extended from the mount. 13th/ 14th century.

Small fragment from the angle at the top of a medieval ridge tile with the remains of a low knife-cut crest. This crest has been stabbed twice from one side. There is a sparse wash of green glaze. This tile comes from the kilns at Minety. For a description of very similar tiles see Wiltshire Archaeology Magazine 68 (1973) 79-88 with particular reference to fig.2 nos 24 and 25. The height of the crest, only 25mm, suggests that this piece is most probably 14th or 15th century. Measures 68x78x11.2mm and weighs 96.33g.

The central bar is narrowed at the centre for the pin and has broken at this point. The other loop is rectangular and 15.6mm high. Its internal dimensions are 5.2x11.9mm Cf. Not quite spherical, although each half could be described as hemispherical, unidentified lead object, with a diameter of 16.2mm around the casting seam, and a thickness of 13.2mm. It weighs 17.50g. The lead has a dark shiny patination and along the casting seam, exactly opposite each other, is a lattice impression, the larger of the two of which is 6x6mm. It seems unlikely this is textile as the holes in the lattice are too deep. Probably late medieval to post medieval in date. Possibly shot, but its non-spherical shape would impede its flight through the air.

Unidentified object, D-shaped in section with a flat underside and an elongated triangle in shape with a pierced wider end. This end is also bent. The object measures 28.2mm in length and is 17.6mm at the wider end, narrowing to 8mm. The piercing is 4.9mm in diameter. The object is max.3.7mm thick. It weighs 8.94g. The lead has a darkish very shiny patina, suggesting the object may be late medieval/ post medieval in date.

One rim sherd, one base sherd, three plain body sherds and one body sherd (see image) decorated with rouletting of a Medieval West Wiltshire ware. The largest sherd (base) measures 52.1x42.3x12.2mm, the smallest (body) 24.1x18.3x7.4mm. The six sherds collectively weigh 46.94g. The fabric is sandy with quartz inclusions and a pale/ pinky colour, a West Wiltshire type, the distribution of which is centred on Warminster. 11th-12th century in date.

Medieval incomplete sheet copper alloy mount with an incomplete shield design stamped within it, there are traces of red enamel on the shield. The shield measures 23mm in width across the top. Incomplete Medieval copper alloy double oval buckle frame, missing its pin. In shape it is rather squashed on the slant. Measures 32.6x26.2mm (internal loops c.10xc.19mm) and weighs 4.92g. One outside edge is decorated with three transverse grooves. The other outside edge is plain. The buckle frame is slightly tilted upwards. It has been coated in a ?preservative material. Cf. two examples in Egan 1991, nos.332 and 333, which date to the second half of the fourteenth century. However buckles of the double oval type continue to the mid-15th century.
