A Late Medieval silver Groat of Edward IV (First reign, light coinage), measuring 23-24mm in diameter and weighing 2.81 (43.2gn). Parts are weakly struck, it has slight wear and is clipped. Groat of Edward IV, light coinage, class VIA, weighing 47.8 grains. Mint: Bristol Ref: North 1580 This is one of a hoard of 54 coins (26 groats and 28 pennies) ranging from the reigns of Edward I to Edward IV, although most are from the reigns of Henry VI and Edward IV. The groats are generally well preserved and unclipped, the pennies showing differing degrees of wear, the earliest pieces are particularly worn.
