MED Ae strap-end with missing back plate. A C-shaped forked spacer with collared knop is fixed by two rivets to a sheet front plate in the form of a scallop shell with eight grooves & a tinned outer surface. The attachment edge is scalloped on either side of a break. Length 39.5+mm, width 34.5mm. Late 14th or early 15th cent.

Medieval copper-alloy strap fitting, either front part of a folded sheet strap-end with wide gap at the fold (Egan and Pritchard 1991, fig. 104) or part of a folding strap clasp (Egan and Pritchard 1991, figs. 77 & 78). Broken at fold. Only one rivet hole, near attachment edge. Decorated with punched line along each long edge & two V's of punched lines, the angles of which almost touch in the centre. 28.5 x 11mm. 13th-14th century.

MED ?Belt mount consisting of a flat disc (diam. 33mm), with centrally placed separate rivet, decorated on front with equal-armed cross formed by incised lines, & punched dots around circumference & within each quarter. The rivet, which projects only 1mm on the reverse, appears to have cut off. In the centre of the reverse a pointed elliptical area is outlined by a finely incised groove. This object is large as a belt mount , but see Dress Access. no.786. No convincing parallel has been found.
