A squashed, but complete, Late Medieval gold iconographic finger ring with an inscription on the hoop. The bezel is rectangular and measures 12.04 x 6.48 x 1.29mm. It depicts a seated figure holding a sword to the right with a shield or wheel to the left. The figure wears oblong head-gear, perhaps a crown or top of veil. To either side of the head are keying marks, deeper and cruder than the neat engraving, possibly for an enamel inset. The presence of the possible wheel and the sword suggest the figure may represent St Catherine.
The hoop extends from the bezel 6.3mm wide, narrowi…

A base silver finger-ring, a rather crude and simple type with rectangular bezel bordered by two pairs of engraved vertical lines. It could be Medieval (Beverley Nenk pers.comm.). Judy Rudoe does not recognise it as an obvious Post-Medieval type.

Fragment of a Medieval or possibly Roman copper alloy finger ring, missing almost all the hoop and most of the oval (6.56x5.37x1.42mm) glass setting (traces of a red/ orange glass are visible). It measures 15.84x10.23mm and weighs 3.11g.
If Medieval it is akin to the stirrup type, albeit with a flattened off bezel, and probably dates to the 12th-14th century. However it could also be of Roman date.

Medieval (13th-14th century) silver finger-ring, measuring 20.01x20.58mm in diameter (internal 18.25x18.47mm) and weighing 2.99g. Late Medieval/ Post Medieval copper alloy finger-ring with much of the surface lost due to corrosion. It measures 21.5mm in diameter (internal 17.9mm) and weighs 1.77g.
The inside surface appears to be curving slightly towards the edges.
The outside surface has a wide central mid-rib decorated on one part with tiny transverse lines. This may have extended further around the circumference of the finger-ring but wear and corrosion prevents us form seeing this.
14th-17th century in date.
