An incomplete copper-alloy Medieval (1200-1400) 'D' shaped single-looped buckle frame with pin and incomplete buckle plate. Measures 39.82x31.11mm and weighs 7.64g. The frame is 'D' shaped in plan, with an expanded outer edge, which is concave on the underside and slopes downwards and outwards. At the centre of the outside edge is a triangular projection inwards. It is decorated with a groove flanking inner and outer edges, and inside this a wavy line with curlicue at either end. An incomplete Medieval (1150-1500) lead pilgrim's ampulla, missing a lug handle on one side and on the other, broken and missing from just below the lug handle in a diagonal across to the opposite corner of the open end. It measures 40.15x33.34x7.68mm and weighs 23.70g. The ampulla is worn with a crack on one face but the decoration can (mostly) still be seen. It depicts a shield on one face (the cracked face), apparently with raised cross-hatching at the bottom and two bands flanking the flat top. A Medieval (1350-1400) copper alloy rectangular buckle frame of Meols type C, with incomplete pin and plate. Measures 43.73x22.78mm and weighs 6.98g. The frame has a rectangular outside edge with three transverse grooves at the centre and another flanking each end. In addition there is a tiny transverse rib on the arms of the frame, towards the outside edge. The pin is sheet copper alloy c.1mm thick, with a transverse rib where it curls around the axis bar. A mount cast in copper alloy with traces of gilding, of probable Late Medieval date (early 16th century). It measures 30.50x25.20x1.24mm and weighs 4.6g. The object is an elaborate shield shape, with rounded short sides and cusped longer sides. The long sides are formed of two semicircular removals that form points. Towards the apexes on the shorter sides are small perforated (c.1mm diameter) semicircular protrusions for attachment; no rivets survive. An incomplete and squashed Medieval (1350-1450) copper alloy double oval buckle frame, missing its pin and almost one loop of the frame. It measures 28.16x24.30mm (internal surviving loop c.10.67x18.31mm) and weighs 2.8g. Examples of this type of buckle frame from London (Egan and Pritchard 1991 nos.331 to 342) date from the second half of the fourteenth to the second half of the fifteenth century, but as the form persists a later date cannot be ruled out.
