The pot leg is broadly D-shaped in section, with a smooth flat back, and a fluted front consisting of 5 semi-circular ribs that run the length of the leg from top to foot. There is a horizontal ridge across the width of the front face near the break at the top. The leg expands in width (20.50mm to 26.00mm) and thickness (10.25mm to 14.00mm) from below this ridge to the bottom but appears to be completely straight…

This handle lug is in the shape of a human hand clasped to make a loose fist, the fingers and thumb of which are clearly shown via grooves. An incomplete copper alloy medieval to post-medieval (AD c.1300-c.1600) handle and handle lug from a chafing dish. The handle is missing nearly a third of its length, while the lug is complete. Overall the object measures 125.2mm long, 54.0mm wide and 19.8mm thick. It weighs 98.11g.
The handle is likely to have been symmetrical. The complete end has a zoomorphic terminal, possibly meant to represent a dog's head, the details of which are engraved. Projecting from the back of the head is a narrower rod which then turns upwards at a right angle before turning at a right angle to beco…
