A silver plated copper alloy contemporary copy of medieval short-cross penny of Henry II to Henry III. Uncertain moneyer and mint (AD 1180-1247). The coin has been folded and has cracked along the fold, revealing a reddish possibly copper alloy or iron core distinct from the outer silver layer. This outer layer has flaked off around the crack. Combined with the overall crudeness and the large flan, this suggests that the coin is a contemporary copy.
