A copper alloy unidentified object of probably medieval to modern date. The object is formed from a circular dome or bowl with a projecting spike at the centre of the outer surface of the dome or bowl. The spike is rectangular in cross-section tapering to a sharp point. The outer surface has a brown patina with small patches of pale green. The inner surface is mostly covered in pale green corrosion product, covering the brown patina. An incomplete silver and gilt medieval crucifix. The crucifix is missing the ends of its arms and an attachment loop. The obverse is decorated with a moulded depiction of Christ, which is fairly crude. The figure is also quite worn so many of the details are worn away. A lead medieval Papal bulla of Pope Gregory IX, 1227-1241. The obverse of the bulla contains the legend GREGORIVS PP VIIII over three lines within a border of pellets. PP stands for Pater Pastorum (shepherd of shepherds). A hole pierces the top and bottom of the obverse. It would have enabled the the thread to pass through the object. On the reverse can be seen depictions of Saints Peter and Paul with a cross between them, beneath an inscription reading SP[A]SPE, an abbreviation for St. Paul and St. Peter. The sides are bent backwards more than the rest of the edge, but whether this is from compression in the soil or by design is uncertain. A copper alloy medieval to post-medieval thimble (c. 1400 - 1550). The thimble appears to have been cast because it has thick walls (1.0 mm thick). It is a domed type, with round indents arranged close together in a rough spiral to the centre of the crown. There is no tonsure. There is a linear grooved border around the rim. The thimble is bent slightly out of shape and worn on one side. It has a medium green patina with patches of grey-green and small spots of light green corrosion product. Overall, it measures 19.5 mm long and 20.3 mm in diameter. It weighs 6.27 g.
