A complete copper-alloy dagger chape of Medieval to Post-Medieval date, c.AD 1300 – 1700. The chape is made from a single piece of copper alloy sheet which has been cut and rolled to join at an overlapping seam along the reverse. The closed end is cut into four triangular pieces which are curved round to form the terminal. A separate rectangular strip of copper-alloy is present around the open end of the chape.
