An incomplete copper-alloy buckle of medieval date, c.AD 1250 - 1400. Meols Type 10. The buckle is a single looped oval with a narrowed and offset bar and ornate outer edges. Two prominent knops flank three grooves on the outer edge of the loop. The grooves act as rests for the pin. The pin no longer remains. The metal has a mid-green patina and is in fair condition. The seal bears the device of an eight-pointed star seated within an upward pointing crescent moon. Only one plate remains which is rectangular with two broken narrowed integral strips with central slot for the pin extending from one end. Four rivet holes are present, one at each corner of the plate. It is undecorated. The metal has a mid-green patina and is worn. The plate is 24.2mm long, 17.2mm wide, 0.8mm thick and weighs 1.4g.

The sides of the spacer and plates taper slightly to a rounded terminal with knoped protrusion. The attachment end is fluted. Both plates appear undecorated.
