A Medieval (late-15th century) copper alloy Tournai jetton dating to the period c. 1497-1521. The token dates from the reign of Louis XII (14978-1515) or Frances I (1515-1547). It is probably earlier in that date range 1497-1521 based on the form of the letters. Letter 'V' type inscribed SIT IIO IIIEII BOIII I II I (SIT NOMEN BOMINI) on the obverse and reverse (variant of no.732 as illustrated in Mitchiner (1998). Obverse: Two trefoils either side of the 'V' rather than a tressure of arches. Reverse: Cross patty with flower within each angle. Mint of Tournai. Cf Mitchener (1998:p.240)…
