A conical lead alloy standing weight of probable Medieval to Post-Medieval date, circa (AD 1300 - 1700). The apex is a rounded knop and measures 9.38mm in diameter. There is a centrally placed rectangular indentation on the upper surface of the apex, this measures 5.14 mm in length. The sides of the weight flare to the rounded flat base with a diameter measuring 23.8mm. A cast lead or lead alloy spindle whorl. In plan it is sub-circular and in profile is bi-convex. There is a central sub-circular perforation which is 6.8mm diameter. Both faces of the spindle whorl appear undecorated, however any original decoration may have been lost due to corrosion in the plough soil. The surface of the spindle whorl is cream in colour. It is difficult to date lead spindle whorls without supporting archaeological context. The whorl measures 27.1mm diameter, is 9.5mm thick and weighs 27.0 grams.
