An incomplete and abraded buckle plate formed from a sheet of gilded copper alloy of probable medieval date (AD 1150-1400). The sheet is broadly sub-rectangular in plan and would have been folded around the offset bar of a single looped buckle frame. A small fragment of this frame survives with ornament bulbous knops on the corners of the frame. A single notch has been cut from the plate at the mid point - through here a rectangular buckle pin would have fitted. A complete cast copper alloy leg or foot from a copper alloy vessel probably a cauldron, posnet or skillet of later medieval date (1300 - 1600). The foot is broadly sub-rectangular in plan and cross section expanding from a wide head with a large dished shaped terminal which would have fitted the base of the vessel to a rectangular foot. It is probably earlier in that date range 1497-1521 based on the form of the letters. This buckle frame is a single oval loop with two lobed knops on the opposing corners of the outer edge of the oval loop. Extending from the oval loop the buckle has three stepped transverse ridges with a rivet hole behind the strap bar.
