AD 10-40. Obverse: corn ear without central stalk, CA to left, MV to right. Reverse: horse facing right with ladder mane, branch and pellet above and pellet and CVNO below. An Iron Age gold coin; a stater, an addendum to the 1998 Silsden Hoard (IARCH-9C03F0). The stater is a coin of the Eastern Region / Catuvellauni and Trinovantes struck under Cunobelinus (about AD 8 - 41), Cunobelinus Linear X-type with an X privy mark under the A of CAMV. The coin is 17.8mm diameter, 3mm thick and 5.07g. See ABC number 2774 on page 136 and Van Arsdell number 1925-5 on page 397 (= BMC 1772). Compare also LANCUM-5FE7DC. The obverse depicts a sylised horse and the letters CV[N]. The reverse depicts a sylised corn ear and the latters [CA]M This is short for Camulodunum, modern day Colchester in Essex, probably where the coin was produced. The length is 13mm the width is 10.5mm
