A late Iron Age/ early Roman (100 BC - AD 200) copper alloy strap fitting, probably from harness. It comprises a closed oval ring and resembles a terret ring in shape with a short bar between two terminal ends. The ring has a cross-section of 2.4mm diameter at the back, expanding to 6.1mm and 6.3mm diameter just before the moulded terminals. These are oval in cross-section (7.8x7.1mm and 8.2x7.0mm) and c.4.5mm wide. The bar between them is 3.4mm long and 5.6x4.4mm in cross-section. Cast copper alloy 'strap fastener' or 'baldric hook' of late Iron Age date, c. 100BC-AD100. The fastener consists of a ring, with a 7.2mm diameter, circular section. On one face of this is a 9.7mm high, projecting stud with a waisted section topped by a 16.0mm diameter disc. Parallels for this object have been found at Camerton, Somerset (Jackson, 1990, 77, No. 81, pl 11) and Coleford, Gloucestershire (Stead, 2006, 180-181, No. 128, Fig. 82). Diameter 37.9mm, Thickness 7.2mm, Mass 39.18mm.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy Iron Age La Tene III style (Nauheim derivative) brooch dating to the first century BC to AD. The brooch is made from a single piece off copper-alloy consisting of the hinge, bow and part of the catch plate. At one end this is twisted to form a bilateral spring of four turns and an internal chord. The ring is cast in one piece and is relatively uniform in diameter with a broadly D-shaped cross section. The outer surface of the ring is decorated with a single groove which divides the ring, resulting in a coil effect. The interior surface of the ring is smooth and undecorated.
