A large, incomplete, iron, bow brooch. The circular section bow is complete and still retains half of the 4 coiled spring with its internal chord passing under the bow. It gradually tapers in and at the foot it is clear that the catchplate was framed, perforated with probably a triangular shaped hole. This item has been conserved with clear varnish. Suggested date 1st century BC.

The iron bow, a coil of the spring and part of the pin of a simple, one-piece, probable Nauheim Derivative bow brooch. It is very corroded and in the past has been conserved with clear varnish. Suggested date 50 BC - 100AD

Simple, iron wire bow brooch. Now broken into three pieces, the bow, most of the pin and the small solid catchplate are present. The bow has a flat oval section with a near right angled bend at the top. This is likely to be a Late Iron Age La Tene III, simple one-piece, Nauheim Derivative bow brooch. The item has been conserved with clear varnish.

Three irregular fragments of iron bloomery waste (slag) or fuel ash, of Iron Age to Late Medieval dating (800 BC to AD 1600). All three fragments are light for their size, which would suggest that minimal iron metal is present within the matrix. All have a honeycomb structure, formed of solidified air bubbles.
