Gold possible coin. A small plano-convex disc, thickest on one side, featureless and worn on its convex side but retaining part of an image on the flat side: a small seated figure with right hand raised. The figure is similar to the Fallen Horseman on later Roman nummi of AD355-361 (Reece period 18). The arms of the cross section slant slightly to the centre where there is an incised groove. Near the end of the arms there is a small hole where a pin or nail would have attached the handle to the vessel. The arms are flat on the reverse, curving down to a shaft with a large knop just above the crown of the loop where only part of one side remains. An incomplete late Iron Age La Tène III type brooch or Nauheim derivative type, dating to the period c. AD 25 - 100. One half of the spring is missing, with only two coils remaining, originally the coil would tapered into the pin but this has broken off with the spring. It has an internal chord. The bow is flat and broad at the uppermost, with a maximum width of 4.71 mm and tapers gently to 1.33 mm thick. Copper alloy brooch. Cast La Tene III (as kindly suggested by the finder) or Nauheim derivative brooch, Mackreth type ND 1.c. Three coils of a spring retaining some tensile strength are wound at the head, with the central coil expanded to form a narrow lentoid bow with a line of moulded dots down its middle, tapering to a plain foot whose end is flattened to form the stub of a folded unpierced catch plate. An incomplete cast copper-alloy Iron Age handle from a sword or dagger. The object comprises of a decorated hilt and two flanged ends (the pommel and guard) that are fully moulded and three-dimensional. The hilt is circular in cross-section with a central moulded annular collar with a diameter of 14.55 mm, above and below the collar are two circumferential grooves forming a raised circular ridge.
