A copper alloy quatrefoil possible strap slide of probable Iron Age to Roman date, 300 BC - AD 410. It is a sub-lozenge shaped plate formed of four lobes, all integral and domed, the two middle ones being slightly longer than the end ones to make the overall form kite shaped. Copper-alloy strap fitting of late Iron Age to early Roman date (c. 50 BC - 200 AD). The object comprises of a lozenge-shaped loop with a rectangular attachment loop extending from the back of it. Across the lozenge-shaped loop is a figure of eight with a raised outline on its front face around two circles. The object has a rough patchy brown and green patina. It is 34mm in length, 24mm in width and 13mm in thickness. It weighs 10.78g. This type of strap fitting and the style of decoration is well exampled from late Iron Age and early Roman contexts.
