It is flat and sub-rectangular in form. At the top of the foot is a U-shaped notch before tapering to a rounded terminal. The front face is decorated with longitudinal reeding. On the back face is the remains of an integrally cast catch plate. This brooch measures 26.18mm in length, 12.80mm in width, 1.98mm in thickness, 1.76g in weight. There are similar examples from Hacheston (Blagg et al, 2004, p. 92, no. 52, 53).
