An incomplete cast copper-alloy La Tene III/Nauheim derivative type bow brooch dating to the late Iron Age or early Roman period, c. 25-100 AD. An incomplete copper-alloy Roman bow brooch, possibly of Colchester or derivative type. Only half of the spring coil and the pin survive, the remainder now missing due to old breaks. The remains of five coils survive, extending at one end to an integral pin that is cylindrical in form and tapers to a point. The entire fragment measures 16.13mm in width, 26.54mm in length, 2.15mm in thickness/diameter at pin (7.93mm at spring), and 3.86g in weight.

Iron Age copper alloy bow brooch of Colchester-One-Piece type and of 1st century AD date
The brooch is incomplete, missing the catch-plate and half of the spring, with pin (with a length of 58.4mm, a depth of 18.1mm and a weight of 6.4g). Half of the spring remains in place but has broken at the end of the chord (with a width of 18.3mm, with a diameter of 1.6mm and a coil diameter 6.0mm) and would have coiled four times each side of the head.
