Gold possible coin. A small plano-convex disc, thickest on one side, featureless and worn on its convex side but retaining part of an image on the flat side: a small seated figure with right hand raised. The figure is similar to the Fallen Horseman on later Roman nummi of AD355-361 (Reece period 18). Andrew Brown kindly comments that the object should probably be regarded as a late Iron Age quarter stater, issue of Haselgrove Period 2 phase 4 or later, 80BC-20BC Suggested date: Late Iron Age, 80-20BC Diameter: 9.4mm, Thickness: 1.8mm, Weight: 1.39gms
